Horses born between land and sea
A family stud dedicated to show jumping, 1 km from the Cotentin beaches. We breed, train and develop horses up to the highest level.
Our story
Three generations of passion
Elevage du Thot goes back to the 1950s at the Thot farm. Jean-François took over his father's breeding operation, started out riding young horses and then developed his horse sales business.
At 30, he settled with Margareth — originally from Switzerland — at the beautiful La Sauvagerie farmstead, 1 km from the sea. For more than 40 years they have bred their horses there with passion.
Today Judith, Ingrid and Florian carry the story on: the sisters compete as amateurs, while Florian rides professional and young horse classes.

A strong bond with Switzerland
Margareth comes from Switzerland and is a close cousin of the Fuchs family, internationally known in the equestrian world.
Our finest sporting achievement also has a Swiss accent: Ideo du Thot, winner of the Show Jumping World Cup Final in Las Vegas in 2007, ridden by Beat Mändli.
